Fall Favourites

Felecia at Flower In The Rain tagged me with listing my fall favourites, and since I haven’t done any tags in awhile I thought I’d give this a go ’round. Now, I love fall, especially here in Indiana where you can watch the trees turn to beautiful colours of red, orange, maroon, yellow, and brown. However, I do NOT like the freezing cold weather that slowly moves in! Eeeek! I wouldn’t mind if it didn’t get lower than 40….but here are my favourite fall things.

1. Favorite Smell? fading leaves as the wind blows more than usual
2. Favorite Food? pumpkin pie or bread
3. Favorite Color? burnt orange
4. Favorite Drink? hot tea with honey and creamer
5. Favorite Treat? egg-nog
6. Favorite Place to go? walking through the harvested fields back the woods
7. Favorite Candy? I don’t care for candy
8. Favorite Movie to watch? Little Women
9. Favorite Clothing to wear? my 6yr old blue hoodie that used to be Danielle’s sister’s… years ago.
10. Favorite Outdoor Activity? walking
11. Favorite Football Team? Uh none
12. Favorite Fall Holiday? Jesus’ birth (he was actually born in Setpember, not December)
13. Favorite Haunted place? you know haunted means “frequently visited”? I’d say the woods or the fields.
14. Favorite Food at Thanksgiving Dinner? greenbean casserole and turkey
15. Favorite Pie? pumpkin
16. Favorite Fall Hobby? looking at all the pumpkins or finding interesting leaves
17. Favorite Fall Memory? when Amanda, Rachel, Eric, Hannah, Mother Dear, and I went down the hill, made a leaf pile, and all played in it.
18. Favorite Fall Sight? the trees far off that look like a painted-masterpiece…. oh wait they are.
19. Overall Favorite thing about Fall? the colours
20. Overall Favorite Season? summer changing into fall

I guess I’m suppose to tag someone, but instead I shall put a linky on and if you post your fall favourites you can link it.

I do wanna know one of your fall favourites though!

Mmmm… I love fall! I am SO enjoying the fall colors and being able to wear my warm fall clothes! I’m hoping to start making a pioneer dress soon, so I’m really excited about that! (Lol, I hope that I can get it done while it is still fall! ;-))
I really miss you! Next week is packed, but after that our life is going back to normal! I’m so excited that I’ll once more have time to e-mail people! :-)
Well, enjoy your fall days out there! :-)
    Hugs!

  7. I really enjoy the weather during Autumn. My favorite thing about fall is going camping with my family. We still have not camped once this year (usually we go at least twice) and I’m hoping to go sometime very soon! We’re hoping that Bently will handle it all right, but if it’s cold we’ll be holding him a lot (wrapped in blankets) because he gets very shivery. I guess that’s one of the pros of having a large dog – they can generate enough body heat to keep themselves warm. Bently generates heat but it leaves his body pretty quick! :D

The one thing I don’t like about fall is that all the spiders seek warmth and make their way into the house – and they are not always cute and little! ;)

Hope all is going well with you! Miss you bunches!

    Love,
    Miss Emily Rose

I love autumn–when there’s actually some change! lol Where I live, so far south, there’s not much change, though the temperature cools a bit and maybe one or two trees change the colors of their leaves. =)
Just curious–how do you know Jesus was born in September? I don’t think He was born in December, but I don’t know if you can actually pinpoint a date. (Our family doesn’t celebrate on a specific date or do anything with ceremony for “Christmas”…Did you know of the pagan origins of the celebration on Dec. 25?)

Hey thanks for doing the tag!!! :D It is neat to see what you say . . . wow, the colors sound so beautiful! I do love the colors, but I don’t think here we have quite the array as back east. I still love it though. It doesn’t get THAT freezing here though for the most part!
Btw . . . why is it that you say Jesus was born in September? Was it a difference in the calendar? Just wondering. :D

Felecia – if you click on the links I gave in my comment above you’ll find that nearly everything having to do with celebrating Christmas on 12/25 is related to some pagan origin….nothing to do with the birth of Christ. Very interesting to research.

Hello! I love fall to! It is my favorite time of year it’s getting cold but not freezing! The leaves falling all around goats and kittens playing in the leaves. Get to see relatives you haven’t seen in awhile. I am not big on trees changing color it’s okay. A lovely time of year to just take a walk and smell the cool air. One thing I hate about fall is acorns. We have to pick them by the 5 gallon buckets full for the deer so we can have meat on our table. It is a time consuming job. Anyways great tag!
