Facts Are Stubborn Things!

“Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.”
John Adams, ‘Argument in Defense of the Soldiers in the Boston Massacre Trials,’ December 1770
US diplomat & politician (1735 – 1826)

Forget the movies, books, music, fashions, gadgets…. just gimme something to study from Yah’s Radiant Word! There is nothing so important, so interwoven, so vital to our lives. I can honestly say one of my favourite activities to do is study the Scriptures and search out knowledge for a deeper understanding of context, culture, language, history of which they were written. I loved the information provided in this video and had to look up each verse to cross-check them. If you have 8 minutes to spare, please watch it. It is worth your time! I came away with tears in my eyes – HalleluYah!

In keeping with your grace, revive me;
and I will observe your spoken instructions.
(Lamed) Your word continues forever,Yahveh,
firmly fixed in heaven;
your faithfulness through all generations;
you established the earth, and it stands.
Yes, it stands today, in keeping with your rulings;
for all things are your servants.
If your Torah had not been my delight,
I would have perished in my distress.
I will never forget your precepts,
for with them you have made me alive.
I am yours; save me because I seek your precepts.
{Psalms 119: 88-94}

I am praising and lifting up you, Yah, today because Your Word continues forever, and because as I seek confirmation of this you reveal it to me, Yahveh-Elohim {God}, again and again. Your Torah has been my delight and honouring you every 7th day as been a joy and treasure to me as I follow in the steps of your son, Yahushua {Jesus} haMashyiach {1 Peter 2:21}. I thank you that you have brought me to the cross-roads and that I am seeking the ancient paths, that have since Yahushua, been forgotten and am truly finding rest for my soul {Jeremiah 6:16}. I am praising you because we, the gentiles, who are grafted into your beloved bride, Isra’el, are saying “He will teach us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths” as your prophet Micah prophesied and that soon “For out of Tziyon will go forth Torah, the word of Yahveh from Yerushalayim.” {Micah 4}

Celebrate this set-apart day for our Elohim with me by posting a song or psalm, and do the Saturday Psalm & Praise meme.

Shabbat Shalom!

    What a lovely video, I’ll need to watch it again. The whole creation vs evolution debate is something I still struggle with. I’ve spent my whole life believing in both to an extent and in college it’s all they teach, evolution. It makes it hard. I think it’s rather strange Christians observe Sunday as the “Holy” day when here in America we consider Sunday they first day of the week. In Spanish cultures, it makes sense because their week begins on monday, so sunday for them is our Saturday. Celebrating Sunday as a day of rest is their seventh day.
    For a few months, actually probably over a year now I’ve been seriously considering following the Jewish model instead of the Christian. It’s a point of struggle with me as well because no one I know follows the model. You all seem to be following it. May I ask what texts you use to follow that’s not the KJV or other Bible translations? I haven’t been able to find a good copy of any sort of Torah or Talmud, but have been searching. Have a blessed day.

    It’s good to hear from you Nelli. :) If you go to my Holy Days post, in the comments, you can find a link about the history of the 1st day Sabbath. You can also search this and come up with some pretty {disturbing} interesting information.

    We aren’t really following the Jewish model – just trying to keep the the Scriptures and follow the example Yahushua set for us. We don’t read the Talmud or follow any of the Rabbinical teachings or laws. We have found that the CJB and the Scriptures versions are very accurate and use the proper names and titles from the original texts. You can use the CJB free on bibstudytools.com and then use the Scriptures free by downloading esword. If you go through and look any of my posts relating to the Scriptures I have added related links for further browsing if you’re interested or if you’re interested in a certain area you can email me for links and further reading. :)

Welcome

Shalom, welcome to A Pondering Heart. I hope you will be challenged by what you read here and it will cause you to search deeper and deeper into the Word of YAH. My name is Jocelyn Tzahala - I am a 19yo young woman, living in Latin America, seeking to be 'set apart as YHVH is set-apart". I want my faith to resemble that Avraham because in him YHVH found a man who would trust in him with everything and act upon his Word. My hope is that my life may be a sweet fragrance unto YHVH the MOST HIGH! HalleluYAH!Read more about me here
