Yom Shekulo Shabbat

Posted By Miss Jocelyn Tzahala on December 12, 2009 | Category: I Follow Yeshua HaMashyiach, Saturday Psalm & Praise, The Scriptures

The only day given any special importance or even a name in the Scriptures is the 7th day, the Shabbat, and it holds a great significance in many places and for many reasons throughout the Scriptures. It is a sign between YHVH and his Bride: “Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘You are to observe my Shabbats; for this is a sign between me and you through all your generations; so that you will know that I am YHVH, who sets you apart for me.” {Exodus 31:13}

People often ask me, “Are you Jewish?” because I celebrate the Scriptural 7th Day Shabbat, but I am neither Jew nor Gentile – for Israel is made up of all who have accepted Yeshua [Jesus] as their Messiah. I am seeking to be that set-part nation {Exodus 19:6, 1 Peter 9:6} that Yeshua came to claim and am following the Scriptural guidance given to us by YHVH himself. ISaturday Psalm & Praise am apart of the pure and spotless Bride, marked by YHVH, through his commandments.

When Yeshua returns to rule on this earth for a thousand years it will be as a Day of Shabbat. It will be as a rest for YHVH’s people, under the rule of his Son, Yeshua haMashyiach, as we will rule with him. We are told several times in the Old and New Covenants that “with the Lord, one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day”. The Shabbat is, yet again, another foreshadow of what YHVH intends for his people and is a gift for us to rest and reflect on the blessings he has given us through his Scriptures. It is a beautiful thought to think that when the Messiah rules for those 1000 years, with his set-apart priests, there will be a rest from the Evil One, who will be bound in chains {Revelation 20:1-9}.

The Messianic Age is referred to as Yom Shekulo Shabbat — a day when all will be Shabbat. In this way, the Shabbat is a foreshadow of what is coming. Each week we have the glorious opportunity to have a glimpse of how it will be when the Messiah reigns on high. For those who observe and remember the Shabbat as it is commanded it has a greater meaning to them, which some cannot understand. For me, I get such a sense of hope, promise, and joy, having delighting in the Shabbat, and know oh, how much more, beautiful it will be to see my King, Yeshua, reigning in this way.

Yom Shekulo Shabbat
A time that is all Shabbat
Ha yom that is ever, shalom that will never…
Yom Shekulo Shabbat

The golden glow of two lights – escape the past, embrace tonight
Candle flicker at dusk – vaguely reveals God’s gift for us
The day will come – believe the day will come
The day will come – be sure the day will come

(chorus)
Yom Shekulo Shabbat
A time that is all Shabbat
Ha yom that is ever, shalom that will never…
Yom Shekulo Shabbat

Unto Adam – was entrusted creation
And to his son – HaShabbat is his kingdom
The day will come – believe the day will come
The day will come – be sure the day will come

(chorus)
Yom Shekulo Shabbat
A time that is all Shabbat
Ha yom that is ever, shalom that will never…
Yom Shekulo Shabbat

May this Shabbat be blessed and restful for you as your delight in His Word: I will find my delight in your regulations. I will not forget your word. {Psalms 119: 6}. Yeshua [Jesus] tells us “Far more blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” {Luke 11:28} and as I am living my life according to the Word of God I seek to follow after Yeshua and the example he set forth: If you obey what I say, then you are really my talmidim [disciples], you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. {John 8:31-32}

Celebrate this day with me by posting a song or psalm, and do the Saturday Psalm & Praise meme.

Shabbat Shalom!

Welcome

Shalom, welcome to A Pondering Heart. I hope you will be challenged by what you read here and it will cause you to search deeper and deeper into the Word of YAH. My name is Jocelyn Tzahala - I am a 19yo young woman, living in Latin America, seeking to be 'set apart as YHVH is set-apart". I want my faith to resemble that Avraham because in him YHVH found a man who would trust in him with everything and act upon his Word. My hope is that my life may be a sweet fragrance unto YHVH the MOST HIGH! HalleluYAH!Read more about me here
