Hold Back Your Foot

Posted By Miss Jocelyn Tzahala on December 5, 2009 | Category: I Follow Yeshua HaMashyiach, Saturday Psalm & Praise, The Scriptures

The words of the Prophet Isaiah ring true when he said “If you hold back your foot on Shabbat from pursuing your own interests on my holy day…. you will find delight in Yahweh”. I so take delight and joy in honouring Yahweh’s Shabbat (even the preparation). I delight in the special meal we have with our special china, glasses, food, and blessings. I delight in beginning Shabbat with blessing and dedicating our day to Yahweh. It is a day I can completely focus on Yahweh and His Word without having to focus on anything else that generally fill my days on any other day of the week. As many were preparing to have a great feast and spend time with their families last week, I realized that every week we have that opportunity where we do all our busy-work, cooking, and cleaning ahead of time just to have a day set apart for the most important things: Yahweh, His Word, and family. When everything boils down these are all that remain, and am continually in awe of the peace I find as I seek His Word with nothing holding me back.

Psalms 35:27
Saturday Psalm & PraiseBut may those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad! Let them say always, “How great is Yahweh, who delights in the peace of his servant!”Then my tongue will tell of your righteousness and praise you all day long.

There are so many different aspects of Shabbat that I enjoy, and I am blessed to be apart of “chosen people, the King’s cohanim [priests], a holy nation, a people for God to possess” {Exodus 19:6, 1 Peter 2:9} May your day be filled with peace, rest, joy, and praise of the Father.

Celebrate this day with me by posting a song or psalm, and do the Saturday Psalm & Praise meme.

Shabbat Shalom!

I was just reading Exodus 20 today and was struck again with keeping the Sabbath holy…and not doing “my own things” in it. Thank you for posting about this!

Welcome

Shalom, welcome to A Pondering Heart. I hope you will be challenged by what you read here and it will cause you to search deeper and deeper into the Word of YAH. My name is Jocelyn Tzahala - I am a 19yo young woman, living in Latin America, seeking to be 'set apart as YHVH is set-apart". I want my faith to resemble that Avraham because in him YHVH found a man who would trust in him with everything and act upon his Word. My hope is that my life may be a sweet fragrance unto YHVH the MOST HIGH! HalleluYAH!Read more about me here
