Finding Joy

Posted By Miss Jocelyn Tzahala on November 14, 2009 | Category: Blessings, Saturday Psalm & Praise

My heart is just leaping for joy today! Yahweh has bestowed blessing after blessing, and truly happy are they who trusts in him! The sun is shining beautifully today and as been for several days. I’m so glad the cold weather decided to stay off a little while longer so we can finish some projects and not be cooped up quite yet. Samuel is doing just perfect and we are so enjoying him. I thought it was just precious last night as Father Sir blessed each one of us and Samuel received his first official blessing. I am reminded that while my earthly father prays a blessing over my life so has my Father in heaven. He has given me promise after promise and blessing after blessing of great and wonderful things through his Scriptures. I am blessed to be able to seek after him like I have sought after nothing before. With each new day his grace and his love are deepened for me and I am able to see new ways to please him as he reveals himself in his Word.

Psalms 84
For the leader. On the gittit. A psalm of the sons of Korach: How deeply loved are your dwelling-places, Yahweh-Tzva’ot! 2 My soul yearns, yes, faints with longing for the courtyards of Yahweh; my heart and body cry for joy to the living God. 3 As the sparrow finds herself a home and the swallow her nest, where she lays her young, [so my resting-place is] by your altars, Yahweh-Tzva’ot, my king and my God.
Saturday Psalm & Praise4How happy are those who live in your house; they never cease to praise you! (Selah) 5 How happy the man whose strength is in you, in whose heart are [pilgrim] highways. 6 Passing through the [dry] Baka Valley, they make it a place of springs, and the early rain clothes it with blessings. 7 They go from strength to strength and appear before God in Tziyon. 8 Yahweh, God of armies, hear my prayer; listen, God of Ya’akov. (Selah) 9 God, see our shield [the king]; look at the face of your anointed. 10 Better a day in your courtyards than a thousand [days elsewhere]. Better just standing at the door of my God’s house than living in the tents of the wicked. 11 For Yahweh, God, is a sun and a shield; Yahweh bestows favor and honor; he will not withhold anything good from those whose lives are pure. 12 Yahweh-Tzva’ot, how happy is anyone who trusts in you!

In the midst of turmoil and what seem like a never ending world of woe we can have joy in he who saves and turn our faces towards Tziyon as Yahushua did in his final hours. It has been a goal of mine to find joy in all things, and thank him for even the stove that does light on its own to having the furniture I continue to stub my toes on. It a mindset and it does take some time to getting in the habit of. When we focus on what blessings we do have we can say “I am blessed to have a stove to light myself” and “furniture to stub my toes on” instead of getting angry or being discontent. Joy is “a delight of the mind, from the consideration of the present or assured approaching possession of a good.” Can we bless him for even those things? Can we encourage others to be content and joyful by just being joyful ourselves? All things work for good to those who love him. I seek to be joyful in what I have or don’t have, and know that whatever he has for me will always be good enough for a joyful spirit! Blessed is he who gives joy to the sorrowful!

May you be blessed with joy this Lord’s Day and may your shabbat be full of complete rest in him! Celebrate the Lord’s Day today by posting a song or psalm, and do the Saturday Psalm & Praise meme.

Shabbat Shalom!

Amein, sister!! what you said is totally true that we should really be grateful for everything we have, and not get mad at little things that are useful (but get in out way:)..
May the Lord Yaweh bless you and yours abundantly.

I love this! It is so true. What a blessing it is to be aware of all the blessings in the little things. Like when my husband asks me to make him food, it gives me an opportunity to spend time in the kitchen straightening up when it would otherwise be avoided. Things like that, that we can so often miss when we worry about all the details.

Samuel is such a cutie! I bet you all are having a blast with him! (I’m trying not to be jealous ;P)

And, I noticed you guys have changed the way you spell Yahushua- is there a reason for this?

As I’ve been on this journey, I’ve found that my joy is sometimes overwhelming. Some days I’ll be crying tears of joy and other days, I’ll be singing out loud and just laughing because being on YHWH’s narrow path and discovering new things each day is a delight!

    Shabbat Shalom!

You are so right – all too often we ignore the many blessings our Heavenly Father bestows on us and choose to complain! It reminds me of the Israelites in the wilderness complaining that there was no meat, and forgetting that Yahweh had taken them out of slavery in Egypt and was providing them with all they needed. I don’t want to be like that – I want to find joy in all Yahweh’s gifts.

Welcome

Shalom, welcome to A Pondering Heart. I hope you will be challenged by what you read here and it will cause you to search deeper and deeper into the Word of YAH. My name is Jocelyn Tzahala - I am a 19yo young woman, living in Latin America, seeking to be 'set apart as YHVH is set-apart". I want my faith to resemble that Avraham because in him YHVH found a man who would trust in him with everything and act upon his Word. My hope is that my life may be a sweet fragrance unto YHVH the MOST HIGH! HalleluYAH!Read more about me here
