To Veil Or Not to Veil
Posted By Miss Jocelyn Tzahala on September 10, 2009 | Category: Announcements
THAT is the question!
I have password-protected my article on head-veils for now because it is of such a personal nature that I just want genuine conversation from friends on it. If this is something you are interested in learning more about this please leave a comment and I will send you the password. I may, at a later date, open it up for public view.

I completely understand wanting to keep that a bit more private. It is a personal & controversial subject even amongst Christians. I completely support & admire women who veil. I understand the arguments both for & against the topic & I believe it comes down to a personal conviction. I believe if God convicts you of something you better do it regardless of if it makes any sense to you or the outside world. (Something I’m learning every day.) I haven’t personally felt any nudging of the Spirit to take up the veil but I am crocheting something to use in my more intense prayer time. I have an online friend who wears a veil at all times. She is the first Christian I have known who wears the veil full time & I really admire her. Here is her site if you are interested: http://veiledglory.wordpress.com/

WOW there seems to be great interest in that which is forbidden. Seems to be indicative of the curiosity that brought sin into the world in the first place. That which was forbidden became too enticing to resist. That being said I am curious as to why you felt the need or desire to write this article and then not feel comfortable to post it?
I understand that there are some things we bloggers ponder that perhaps we do not feel comfortable sharing but then why even bother mentioning the point you are pondering in the first place? :) This for sure is going to be a controversial subject but it has been discussed and argued for generations so why not do so again with the new generation. From what I notice from your comments most of your readers are very supportive of you and would probably benefit from what you have to say. And then of course there are a few of us guys out here who do not have to VEIL and perhaps it would do us well to understand why young ladies feel the need to do so.
Anyway share if you like, or do not this is your blog and you can therefore do as you want. :) YOUR BLOG your RIGHT! :D
I would be interested in the conversation as well. God bless you.

I protected it just it could be discussed between friends and not by anyone who might happen on the subject. I know those who were interested would take the time to let me know and it would be genuine conversation. It hasn’t been controversial in the discussion, though there have been differing opinions. It’s really not that I’m uncomfortable with posting it online, just because of reasons previously stated. :)

Hello. This is my first visit to your blog! I’m a 26 year old mother of 2. God has laid it on my heart to study up on the headcovering. I think He is leading me to wear one. I am very interested in your post regarding it and your thoughts! It seems to be a very sensitive subject among people I know. Seems many have some quick excuse of why it’s not for them, some way of throwing out the conversation before they have to dig any deeper. That’s what has intrigued me here, that you dared to dig deeper. I would love to know what you found! If you are not comfortable with that I understand completely. I really hate contention so if I had a hot post on my blog I might not want to let strangers (whom I do not know whether they can be tactful should they dissagree) see it. So I would not hold it against you in the least if you prefer not to let me in, seeing as how I’m a total stranger.
God bless you young lady, for following the Truth! Have a great rest of your week!

Hi Jocelyn,
I am a lurker, so I understand if you don’t want to give me the password. But I would be very interested in reading your thoughts and perhaps contributing to the conversation (in a gracious and kind manner!). My mother covers, has done so for about 15 years, but neither my sister nor I cover. It was something God laid on her heart and my dad supported her, but he didn’t request us s to. He doesn’t actually care either way, and wants us to do our own study and follow however God leads. I have studied it and come to a conclusion that is different than anyone I have heard yet. I am not opposed to covering, but do not believe it is a requirement. I would be happy to explain my study and conclusions if you would like to hear it.
