Sense & Sensibility Epattern
Posted By Miss Jocelyn Tzahala on January 20, 2009 | Category: History, Homekeeping, Hope Chest, Reviews, Winter Bundle
Many of you may know who Mrs. Jennie Chancey, and over the past few months I’ve had to pleasure of getting to know her a bit more. I found her site, Sense & Sensibility, when I first started blogging and was intrigued all the different patterns she offers. They aren’t the modern “hip” patterns but ones that ladies can dress feminine and modest, without looking dull.
I have my Regency S&S pattern up in my room along with the beautiful fabric I bought to make it with and soon, I hope, I shall be underway is using both to make a beautiful gown.
Just recently Mrs. Chancey came out with epatterns. Downloadable patterns that you can see photographs and read the details for each pattern listed below on its era’s page. You’ll never have to buy duplicates of a pattern again because you can always just print off the parts you need. This is a wonderful idea, and I’m thrilled to be giving one away!
One winner will get their choice of a epattern. To enter just tell me which era or gown you’d wanna make, and to find out how you could have more chances to win this item check out the Winter Bundle Announcement post.
Deadline to enter: Friday, January 30th

Hey Jocelyn!
I think I would want one of the regency gown patterns. I have had my eye on them since they first came out, but didn’t have the money to get them. Thanks for this opportunity! I have always loved dresses like this, thanks for giving me and all of these other young ladies a chance to have a nice, modest version of it! All the dresses on the site look beautiful! Good luck to everyone!

I love looking through Mrs. Chancey’s site and I love sewing historical outfits! I made her Romantic era dress after watching Wives and Daughters and getting very “into” that era, and I also have her Romantic era blouse pattern. I would love to get the epattern for the Tea Gown!
Thanks so much for hosting this giveway, Miss Jocelyn!

I LOVE making historical dresses. We started sewing when we were little and have kept it up till now we are very much “into” elaborate historical creations. :-) I’ve actually never used any of Mrs. Chancey’s patterns yet, but I would love to make the 1910 Tea Gown. I have a friend who made two dresses with it and they were so beautiful – flowing, graceful and feminine. I decided I must make one myself sometime. :-)
Thanks again for giving away all these great things!

Leaving another comment today….
I noticed that in order to really look period correct, you need the right underpinnings, so I think my next choice would be the regency underthings, because you can use it for so many different eras, not just the regency period. The chemise can be used for multiple things, such as nightgowns, etc.
Thanks again for hosting this giveaway!!

I can’t answer which one I’d want because it looks like the girls dresses end at size 10, but my daughter is a size 10 now, so I’d want something in a 12 for her.
I’d happily take any with a size 12 for girls :)

i would make the swing dress in a heartbeat. it’s such a beautifully classic dress, and it’s so forgiving in shape. love it!
[Reply]
I have wished for a pattern from Sense & Sensibility for some time now (not quite in the budget right now). Such pretty, feminine fashions – I love the look of yesteryear. While I love the Regency look (hello Jane Austen), I would probably choose something from the Beatrix Potter era (my children LOVE her stories) and it would be a little more practical for me right now. Thanks so much for including me in your drawing.
