CM Scrapbook Pack
We love to preserve memories to where we can enjoy and reflect on them. Mother Dear started scrapbooking several years ago and, when my sisters and I were older enough, she let us do our own albums. Staying up late at night to scrapbook with Mother and the girls was and is something I’ve always enjoyed.
A lot of people scrapbook while others think it’s a big hassle and don’t even think they could do it. Let me tell you that it is an easy task to scrapbook. Just think of it as another craft such as stamping, basket-weaving, sewing, or jewelry-making.
Like the crafts mentioned above, scrapbooking is something every girl, at any age, can do with her Mother. Not only is it a time to spend together and bond, but also a time to preserve memories. I mean who doesn’t have fun putting together pretty pages with funky paper, stickers, and memories you’ve captured through photos?
We use scrapbooking supplies from a direct sales company called Creative Memories, which means it’s not sold in store but through a consultant. You can purchase scrapbooking supplies from hobby stores or even Wal-mart, but we have found that they don’t have the same safe quality that Creative Memories does for your photos. So I would discourage you from buying supplies from just any store.
I wrote about gifts of Practicality in my monthly column for GGMagazine called, Beautiful Girlhood, in which I listed many practical gift-ideas for girls growing into ladies, and scrapbooking supplies was one of them.

I love scrapbooking! I have not had a lot of time to enjoy it quite as much as I would like to, but it is certainly a hobby I think is worthwhile! It’s a great way to preserve memories, with photos etc.

Here is a homemade gift idea for anyone who already scrapbooks. I made my seven year old daughter a scrapbooking kit for Christmas this year. I cut down my 12 by 12 paper into 6 by 6 paper for an extra 6 by 6 album that I already had here at home. Then I added some assorted ribbons, buttons, stickers, brads and die-cuts(that I already owned). I placed it in a cute box and voila, she had a beautiful homemade gift. I had a lot of fun making it for her and it turned out much nicer than any pricey kit I could have bought at a store. We have enjoyed scrapbooking together this week.

I’ll be honest and say that I’ve never done scrapbooking, I’m not even good at putting my photos in albulms. I would love to learn to do digital scrap booking as I think I would be more likely to actually do that.
