Miss Jade-

The Bible only says that a strand of blue is to be used, Yehovah never mentions another (commanded) colour. Scarlet is not commanded, but I think that's a great idea since we are called to be priests of the Most High!

So, second colour can be anything just as long as you use a blue strand somewhere in it. Traditionally, the second colour is white (mine are white/silver, although on my new ones the second colour will be cream).

Blessings,
Miss Toria

Jocey,

These are SO pretty! Are they made out of sewing floss? Did you find the pattern online?

You have quite the eye when it comes to photography!

Love you! -Me

They don't have to be made in any certain way. All it says is to have tassle with blue thread at the corners. I just did mine like that because that was the first pattern I found. :)

Kally, is the other colour scarlet by any chance? I know that scarlet was part of the priests' robes in the Torah.

I'm glad we're not the only ones who wear colored Tzitzit. lol!
Even though we all know how, and do make our own, one of the men in our Congregation has made this his specialty. If you bring him an outfit, inevitably he can match threads to it. :-) He makes these really neat Tzitzit that are the royal colors (blue, purple, gold-ish yellow, and something else). Everybody loves them!

Our family wears them all the time (as in, not just on Sabbath). I have found that by using a small safety pin, I can use them on skirts or dresses that don't have belt loops. This is especially helpful for the nicer skirts.

The men in our Fellowship have found that fishing clips work very well foreveryday wear and tear. All they have to do is clip them on to their belt loops or whatever. This is good for me when I'm doing Dad's laundry, too. lol!

We have an older friend who wears mostly shirt and skirt/pant sets, where the shirts aren't to be tucked in. Anyway, she has sewn buttons, which are the same color as whatever outfit she's wearing, onto the corners of her shirts. She just leaves the Tzitzit on there, and when it comes time to wash the clothes, she just pulls the tzitzit off.

Anyway, I have started to ramble... :-)

Blessings!

Haha, ours are all white and blue...actually, it was only a year or two ago when we saw our first "colored" tzitzit. Dad thought the guy was a rebbel. lol! But, Scripture says nothing about what the second color must be so... ;)

Thanks for the reminder, I've been meaning for weeks to take a trip out to JoAnns for white fabric. ;) I have a surprise up my sleeve for tzitzit...already have the cord from my mom's, dad's and brother's and mine' (although mom and I have them on our prayer shawls instead. at least, right now).

Anyhow, I'm rambling for nothing. lol Hugs to you, I'll try to type up my notes from the conference soon and send 'em over!

Lots of Love,
